Junior Newsletter & Pre-Season Information

With the start of the 2022 cricket season fast approaching and junior training starting this week, we wanted to welcome you all to the club for what promises to be a great year of cricket. We have been busy behind the scenes getting everything in place, and we wanted to take this opportunity to communicate some key information and hopefully answer some of your questions.

I would particularly like to highlight the appointment of Emma Williams as the Clubs Women’s and Girls lead with and it is great to see considerable growth of our female section already.

If you have not done so already, it would be great to see you upstairs in our newly renovated Club House enjoying a drink or 2 whist watching the Cricket.

One of the biggest changes this season is the launch of the new Ammanford CC website www.ammanfordcc.com , Pitchero system and Mobile App. All of which brings everything into one system for membership, fixtures, training, events, and availability.

We ask that all players / parents download the Pitchero App or use the website and to state availability for training and matches as well as respond when selected to play. You login with the details you entered when you registered.

Please see the following guides on how to install and use the App.

Getting started using the Club app
View club and team content on the app
Manage my schedule in the Club App
Manage my child's schedule in the Club App

Note that WhatsApp will not be used for team selection or availability discussions. Pitchero will be used for this so please ensure availability is kept up to date on your personalised schedule on the Pitchero system. We will no longer be using Teamer

Please make the time to read this whole article as there is information about each team.

AMMANFORD CRICKET CLUB OUTDOOR NETS POLICY

We are very fortunate to have our Outdoor Nets and it has been a pleasure to see so many of our Members making the most of the facility. In order to ensure that the nets are used safely and efficiently, we have brought in the following rules from this point forward, we ask all Members to please adhere to:

• Nets must be booked in advance using our booking system:
https://www.picktime.com/AmmanfordCricketNets
(this link is available on the Club App and Website)
• Please only book what you need.
• Anyone that is batting must wear a helmet, and all protective equipment relevant to gender and age.
• When either a F1 or Level 2 qualified Coach is not supervising the nets, they may only be used by Junior Members under the age of 16 when supervised by a parent. That parent must make the net booking via the app / web and supervise the usage for the whole session. The Club will not be responsible for any accidents or incidents which may occur during these bookings.
• The code for the lock must not be given to anyone that is not a member of the Club.
• The nets are to be left in a clean & tidy state and all rubbish removed.
• If you are unable to use your booked nets, please ensure you cancel your slot, so someone else has the opportunity to use them.
• When making your booking, you are agreeing to all of the above.
• Anyone failing to adhere to these rules will face disciplinary action by The Committee, with the possibility that they could be suspended or banned from using the facility in the future.

Any questions, please contact the Club Chairman Peter Davies, Junior Co-Ordinator Dave Pallot or Safeguarding Officer Richard Evans.

We thank you all for your co-operation with this going forward.

AMMANFORD CRICKET CLUB (JUNIORS) REGIONAL SELECTION PROCESS

We are very proud to have good representation across all age groups at regional level and we would like to take this opportunity to explain the selection process for anyone that is unclear.
Throughout the season Ammanford Cricket Club Junior Coaches will monitor the performances, attitude, and ability of all players.

All match data is recorded onto the play cricket website where anyone can access individual playing records such as runs scored, wickets taken and averages.
Throughout the season the junior coordinator will be in discussions with junior coaches to discuss regional nominations and the Club will nominate players based on the criteria above who they believe are of a good enough standard to be considered by the region.
Nominations will be made in line with the current regional nomination process.
These discussions will be solely between Ammanford Cricket Club Coaches, officials and regional representatives and there will be no discussions with parents at this stage.
Once nominated by Ammanford Cricket Club, the player / players parents may receive an invitation by Cricket Wales to attend their training program and/or trials based on the current process.

Once an invitation has been received, it is entirely up to the player / players parents if they wish to accept or decline the invitation. Obviously as a club we encourage players take up this offer as they will benefit from a higher level of coaching and have the opportunity to develop as a cricketer as well as being an achievement they should be very proud of.

We thank you for your understanding and support in this
