Congratulations to Alun Evans who will lead the lead the 1st Team for the 2023 season making it a 14th consecutive year as the valued leader of the Club.

Alun first took up the role of 1st Team & Club Captain in 2010 for the inaugural season of the South Wales Premier Cricket League (SWPCL).

During his time as captain the Club has enjoyed a very successful and trophy laden period winning the SWPCL Twenty20 Cup in 2011 and 2018, the South Wales Premier Cricket League in 2012, the South Wales Cricket Association Knockout Cup in 2013 and 2022, the South Wales Cricket Association League in 2014, and the Welsh Cup on a memorable day for the Club at Sophia Gardens in 2018.

Evans lead his young team to victory in the South Wales Cricket Association Knockout Cup on the final day of the 2022 season, coming out victorious against Neath by 40 runs in the final at Waverley Park, Clydach. The fine wine that Evans is (getting better with age) produced a sterling performance himself in the final, scoring a valuable 34 in the first innings with the bat before claiming special figures of 3-14 from his 4 over spell to close out the game in fine fashion, clinching the man of the match award in the process. "Cadw fynd Al!"

He will also be looking to build on a a solid performance in the South Wales Premier Cricket League with his young squad from 2022.

Alongside his on-field leadership, Alun also plays a vital role off the field in coaching and nurturing the junior talent coming through the Club pathway.

The Club is very grateful to Alun for his continued devoted services to the Club and wish him and his teams all the very best for the summer of 2023 and beyond.
